In late 2004, after years of working together, the five founders of Triple Ring suddenly found themselves out of work. The acquisition of the company where they were working had unexpectedly fallen apart just days before the expected close. They had to make an important decision: keep the team together or find other jobs.
The decision was easy, but the timing was bad. The economy was still recovering from the burst of the dot-com bubble. Several on the team had kids approaching college, and one had just adopted a daughter and had started building a house. Despite the challenges, the colleagues knew they wanted to keep working together. They had collaborated to solve some very hard problems, and they believed they could tackle just about anything. They formed Triple Ring in a matter of weeks with just the outline of a business plan. They simply saw inherent value in the team.
This spirit of teamwork continues to this day. As the company has grown, Triple Ring has continued to add people who share an appreciation of creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
