GPU Accelerated Monte Carlo Simulations of CAD Objects

Triple Ring has developed a GPU accelerated Monte Carlo Simulation package that uses CAD objects as an input to produce realistic X-ray projection images. The simulations are in excellent agreement with simulations performed with the CERN developed GEANT4 – the gold standard in X-ray Monte Carlo simulations. Triple Ring’s system outperforms the GEANT4 in terms of computation speed by almost three orders of magnitude. The results were presented at the 6th International Conference on Image Formation in X-Ray Computed Tomography, 2020, Regensburg, Germany.
